ProtoTrak TRL 1630rlx noob
I am not new to milling/machining but the lathe especially the CNC/ProtoTrak has been a bit of a rough transition.
Unfortunately the guy with the most experience recently left and they put me on the mound.
I am trying to program what I would think is a simple job turning down a bit of round stock.
its 307mm x 38.3mm. trying to rough it down to 17.5. I have ~15mm in the jaws and a live center on the other side. 291 is the overall length of the rough.
The lathe has a turret and I am using mclnr-124a in the position parallel to the face of the chuck, nose of the tool pointed at the chuck. using insert cnmg120408-rp. Software is 2.2.0 (031721.1425)
I have faced the end and drilled it for the live center.
I am trying to use the "cycle" program/feature but I either end up with something of a X plunge cut and a single run down the z or the tool path/part geometry does not look correct.
Any help would be appreciated 😁
