What parts of Albany or Schenectady are good for grandma?

So let's say you no longer live in NY state and your grandfather passed away and your grandma is now living alone and she wants/needs to get out of a rural part of upstate NY and wants to move to the Albany or Schenectady areas because there are better/more services: medical, social, shopping, transportation, etc.

Let's say she's in her mid- 60s in reasonably good health and active, but she is getting older, so need to keep that in mind.

What parts of the Albany or Schenectady areas or surrounding towns would you recommend for safety and activities and access to services she might need? Uber, shopping, doctors, senior centers?
