My research teacher rejected my proposed topic about my special interest and now it doesn't feel good to interact with it :(
I spent half a semester writing my outline and proposal for a topic I was really really excited about. She seemed supportive and I was getting good grades but suddenly when I had to defend my topic, she hated it and didn't see the problem gap. I'm 100% sure she doesn't see the problem gap because she's not familiar with the field. I kept explaining it to her, that there WAS a problem that I could investigate, but I don't know, it's like she suddenly couldn't understand words when I explained it??? When she proposed other topics in the field, they weren't feasible or were different from the problem I wanted to investigate. I tried going with one of the topics she suggested anyway and she nitpicked it to death. She just obviously didn't want me to do something related to the field.
So I picked some bullshit topic I don't care about to please her. She simply wants everyone to make products based on plants. It's so fucking boring I don't care about this shit at all and now it hurts a little to interact with my special interest because it was rejected. It'll pass because I like my interest too much but it pisses me off badly.
Also nearly everyone I interacted with for the sake of my research talked down to me like they knew better than me about my special interest field. Mind you none of them are experts and barely have surface level knowledge
November is already going suuuper bad for me like comically bad and now I have to rewrite everything for a topic I don't care about
