I'm just rewatching the first SH transmission...

And there are few thoughts I wanted to share. Of course you may completely disagree.

First of all, we need to give more praise to Motoi Okamoto, the former Nintendo employee now SH series chief. He did a massive undertaking by relaunching the series with so many different titles in tje works.

And just like that, they later on added another free(!) "proof of concept" game as a surprise on top. And now even a DLC might be on the way...

But back to the transmission: 3 of the 5 announced projects are out, and one has a release date (the movie). And none was cancelled, which is something in this day and age.

True, ascension was a complete disaster but I can understand why they greenlit the project. On paper, it could have been nice and at least it tried something new... (Btw the ascension guy seemed like a fraud the frist time I saw him in thid transmission)

SH2R and f are both top-class horror games, praised by most players and critics. Remake did the impossible by not upsetting the core fanbase while f now did the only healthy thing: upsetting parts of the fanbase while creating a new one.

The movie won't be super great but I'm sure it will be a nice treat that you can feel was made with love and care. And maybe even adds a little layer to the whole fandom just like the first movie did.

Now still left to be further announced is townfall. And man... rewatching the trailer made me so hyped.

For me, townfall has always been the most promising of them all. The visuals, the narration, the music. While I 100% enjoyed the full games until now, this might take the series to new a emotional level for me personally.

But once again, back to the transmission. How was it as a whole? Well... awkward.

And while I always hoped for another one of those broader transmissions, I can understand why they changed the format to be more focused.

Still, I believe Okamoto did a fantastic job with revitalising the series. He is absolutely no rockstar persona maybe that's why I people tend to overlook him. But I'm convinced he does a hell of job.

What a time to be alive as a SH fan. Okamoto-san, thank you 🫡
