The show was slightly underwhelming (Lyon, Nov 8th 2025)
I'm 21, this was a long-time dream to see Jamiroquai live, and I had a good time. Don't get me wrong, it was clearly a solid performance and I was impressed it lasted more than 2 hours. Props to the band for giving so much of themselves.
But there was also a obvious lack of energy in the audience, as well as on the stage. Everything from the screens to the stage lighting was focused on Jay Kay, and there wasn't any opportunity to see what each musician was capable of. Repetitive intros/outros in the live versions of the songs, no notable solo...
A good point though, is that almost each song had new verses that you never hear in the studio albums (again this is my first time seeing them live, I don't know if this was already a thing in previous tours).
So... This was a good concert, that put a smile on my face for the rest of the night, but my expectations were a bit higher from such a legendary band. I'm not THAT disappointed, but still it feels weird now thinking about it.
What are your thoughts ? Is this a common feeling among other fans ? If you were at the show, do you agree/disagree with me ?
