The very First Tournament of a New Retro MTG format: Heritage 97

Hey guys!

I’m organizing a casual Heritage 97 tournament, a retro MTG format we’ve been working on for some time and that might interest some of you.

It's played with sets from Alpha to Visions, but with a banned list to ensure a diverse metagame and rules are the modern ones except for mana burn, which is back :)

The format came from a desire to have an active, updated, and accessible retro format that captures the feel of old Type 1.5 where old school cards are still played but with the added variety of some newer sets, and before the shift in set design in Weatherlight and Tempest.

This will be the first tournament, and I'm pretty much figuring things out as I go. The goal is to keep it fun and relaxed, a way to test how the format plays out.
We will do it via webcam (proxies allowed) or fully online depending on how much people selects each option.

If you want to participate, you can go to this Google Sheet:

Everything is explained in it.

Open until November 22 at 12pm western european time
