Taiko no tatsujin: rhythm festival. Don-chan band Npc's playing terribly

I recently decided I wanted to get all achievements but I simply cannot play the don-chan band section I keep failing because the npc'a are absolutely crap. And since I don't have any friends I can't actually pass them... Any others have the same problem?
