As a 19M will I ever be able to buy a house
I will try to keep this as non-political as possible, with the upcoming budget on the 29th (26th?) I think everyone is worried, including myself. But I’m not here to speak about the ins and outs, is it even possible for me to afford a home in the next 5 years, get married, and have kids. This has been my plan for life since forever and if anything I’m running behind. I am training to be a joiner due to finish end of next year at (newly) 20 years old, I’m going to be working 50 hour weeks on £16 an hour and from what I’ve worked out I should be able to save about 250 a week (if I was on that wage currently). With the way the UK is going though, I’m not convinced that this is a realistic dream. All this to say, is it even worth trying to save at the moment or should I do what all of my friends are doing and go on holidays, go out on the weekends, and upgrade on things I need like a car, stop budgeting as much on food, and buy myself new clothes (currently the newest item of clothing I have is 2 years old)
