I think myself, my daughter and my mother all have ADHD?

Diagnosis

My daughter is strong willed, has deep feelings and large emotional reactions. Riding her wide range of emotions throughout the day can be difficult and exhausting. Although young, I think she might have ADHD. In doing research on the topic, I am almost sure of it that I have ADHD and so does my mother.

I grew up in a household with significant physical and verbal abuse and an alcoholic father. Most of my childhood felt like survival. I resent my mother for not setting me up for success as an adult. My house was always a mess, we were always late, things lost and forgotten. My parents struggled to maintain adult friendships. Unable to start and complete projects.

As a young child, One of my teachers recommended to my mother that I be tested for ADHD but my mom blew it off like she was crazy.

I just assumed so many of my failings were from such a chaotic household, but now I’m not so sure.

How do you differentiate between what is ADHD and C-PTSD?
