Hard truths about emotions and depression.

It's hard to admit, but I think the reason we get stuck moving through life and completing our goals is because we enjoy the feeling of sitting back in our chair and thinking about us overcoming and becoming successful, but we fear actually doing it because we subconsciously know it's to good to be true, That life can get to that state of glory. This is caused by many things, but i think the biggest offender is depression.

I feel since thousands of years ago we have been suppressing our emotions for society, it's no secret, but I think the thing we struggle with is getting over that and no-one wants to admit. A lot of people still feel shame when opening up and a lot of people all still shame people when they say to much.

Jump back into the past, over 300,000 years ago, we just cried because that was why we had the emotion, to signal help is needed, but now, back in modern times, most if not all people suppresse it. I personally believe that depression has evolved in us over the thousands of years of emotional suppression leading to now where everyone seems depressed, not everyone is of course. From what I can see, it's very difficult to find any use for depression, that's why I think this. I think in the next few hundred years there will be a crisis where depression is in everyone and can never be truely "fixed" in the person and becomes an incurable plague.

I think, to at least dampen the effects it will inevitably have, we need to grow, to change how we speak to others, to cry like there is no shame in it because there isn't. One way is to stop thinking laziness is a mindset. I find that most emotions are symptoms of something else, like how we are happy when we get a gift, it's the same for laziness. Laziness can be caused by many things like burnout, stress or depression. Depression also has a cause and unfortunately there's only one way to know what the cause is, talking about it.

Those are my honest opinions. Any suggestions, perspectives and resources are greatly appreciated. I hope you all have a great day ;)
