Experiance GM Looking for players for some IRL D&D/Daggerheart in Grovepark - Lewisham

[LFP]

I am an experienced DM who for the past decade has mostly been running games online. I now have a space to host games but not enough IRL players that live within driving distance to make up a full table.

I've tried reaching out to the local RPG clubs but the seem very insular and from what friends that are members tell me, are massively oversubscribed and pushed for space anyway.

I figured we'd start with something conventional like a D&D or Daggerheart Game based around Barovia or Baldur's Gate and once I'd built a bit of trust with the group we can roll over into something more unfamiliar.

I don't charge for games because I don't like how money complicates the relationship between story teller and audience. If people enjoy what I do and want to help out that is very different to them paying with a preconceived expectation.

My reputation, as far as I can gather, is as one of the fastest combat runners around and the main complaint I receive is my worlds are too detailed, as in very objective focused players have complained that sometimes it's hard to tell what the central quest is because the world is a massive yarnball of story and no matter what thread they pull, it never seems to reach an end.

I'm big on music, have all the toys and am a passable actor as well as a decent comedian. My particular brand of spectrum behaviour is memorising vast amounts of irrelevant information so my game tends to be lore heavy and in a complex world, not that it often comes up as most players are more interesting in fast money and shiny objects instead of delving into the social-political reasons why a Dragon is hoarding most of a nation's wealth.

How much combat and roleplay they ultimately end up being is determined by the players and what they seek out.

I'm looking to arrange a starter session at a neutral location then moving a game to my private residence once we've established that everyone knows how to wash themselves and aren't psychotically anti-social or un-ignorably criminal.

You must be 18+, able to attend a game on a regular basis, able to play nicely with others and able to get yourself to the grove park area.

I will train you how to play if you don't know how and upskill you if there are areas for improvement, provide support within reason if there are barriers to play, take time to spotlight each character in their own sidequest over the course of the game IF that is something you want to do and generally lay on the game, figures, scenery and associated stagecraft of running a game.

If this seems like something you'd be interested in, reach out to me and we can talk more.
