ProFrac Holdings (ACDC) Q3 earnings report discussion

Discussion

ProFrac (ACDC) just dropped their Q3 2025 numbers and figured I’d get your take on their report.

Revenue came in at $403 million, down a painful 20% from Q2’s $502 million. They posted a $92 million net loss (slightly better than the $107 million hole they dug last quarter) and Adjusted EBITDA landed at $41 million, equating to a 10% margin versus 16% in Q2. Cash from operations was basically flat at $5 million but free cash flow flipped negative to -$29 million after being +$54 million the prior quarter. Net debt is still heavy at $1.04 billion but at least it’s down almost $90 million since year-end 2025, and they shaved another $25 million off full-year capex guidance to $160-190 million.

The big headwind was a surprise slowdown right at the end of Q3 that had otherwise shown signs of recovery. Pricing keeps sliding and the stimulation side got hammered: revenue down 21% sequentially and EBITDA margin collapsed to only 6%.

On the brighter side, management says activity has already started picking up here in Q4, and they’re guiding for sequential improvement in both stimulation and proppant. They’ve locked in labor cuts and are targeting another $85-115 million of annualized cash savings by mid-2026 through non-labor costs and lower capex. Proppant profitability should get a lift from better throughput even if sand prices stay soft.

Is ProFrac finally lean enough to survive the current oil slog, or has the fracker's well finally run dry, frac crews, investors, geologists… what do you think?
