Just picked up a Ryzen 5 5600X, won’t post on B350m MOBO

to expand, i’m upgrading from a ryzen 5 1600 to a 5600x because i found a really good deal, but now it’s refusing to post on my MSI B350M Gaming Pro motherboard (CPU EZ debug light on, even when booting with no RAM) i updated the bios today and it lists 5000 series compatibility, but is it time for a new motherboard, something in the b550 range? other specs (if they matter): 16GB DDR4 RAM (2x8) OCd to 2933MHz GTX 1070 GPU (looking to upgrade in the mid-long term) 650W 80+ bronze PSU 3 sata drives (1 ssd (boot drive) + 2 hdd) 1 m.2 nvme ssd this setup was originally built in 2017 and other than adding storage, i haven’t upgraded anything in the 8 years since but she’s starting to struggle 😅
