Creating a PC around the book of vile darkness and vile feats ?
While I am the perma-DM, I like to theorize around PC ideas for myself as well.
I always wanted to play some sort of warlock, dark wizard type of character.
Old ideas went from a reflavored tiefling to be a playable mind flayer (or infected human) into different Warlock ish classes.
Witch from Pathfinder or the aberrant Sorcerer come to mind.
I liked the idea behind the "truenamer" class in 3.5, but man is it bad. ^^
There are also some classes in 3.5 like the warlock and Binder that attempt something like that. A psion could also work with the mindflayer concept, but would end up as less of a warlock.
And of course the idea of an Illithid bard, using a bagpipe made out of brain skins. ^^
As you can tell, I dont have a group role in mind, but most likely a form of half or full caster.
Summoning some aberrations, tentacles and stuff.
What I am really looking at are the extra abilities and feats from "Book of Vile Darkness"
Dark speech is very flavorful for example, just not that great I think. ^^
The spell: Vile lance is also cool. Although the vile dmg is only meaningful against PCs.
Damning Darkness
High resistance vs divine spells
Using madness to redirect a targeted mind effect
Growing tentacles ^^
Masters will: Roll 1d20 and get a big boost or punishment depending on the roll.
There is a lot of other stuff in there but I was wondering if somebody actually made a character before with these feats.
I assume it is primarily meant for NPCs and villains but would like to see what could be done.
Any ideas?
