Anyone brought a Polaroid camera and film through bag check before?

I'm flying to the UK and i want to bring along a polaroid camera. There's film in the camera and also a separate box of undeveloped film. Has anyone ever requested for a hand check at Singapore bag check/does anyone know if a hand check is allowed? I don't want to ruin the film by letting it pass through the x-ray.
