Replacing entertainment system in an older mini

I have a 2016 mini Cooper and it has Bluetooth so it is fine but I’ve always wanted Apple CarPlay and I haven’t seen that there’s a screen you can replace it with although it does look daunting to have to do. I’m just wondering if anybody has done it and has any opinions on if it’s worth it or if I should just wait till I get my next car in the future to make sure it’s an included feature
