Strongly disliked Snow Crash. Is Stephenson still worth reading?

I read Snow Crash this year, and it was entirely underwhelming. The writing style being so “cool” took me out of the story. It just felt silly to keep going with the overly stylistic/expressive language tone when a perfectly fine story was unraveling with decent characters and world building. I could not get locked in.

I have Cryptonomicon on my TBR shelf, and I’m considering removing it.
