Elliptical Cylinder exerts more pressure?

I just bought a new pump as I needed to size up and got an elliptical cylinder from Lapump.

I've found that even at low pressures (5-6 inHg) it feels much more strain on my penis. Have others had the same feeling? Is there any scientific reason for this if it is really the case for everyone...
