Quedamos+vernos

Hey everyone, pretty new to spanish and just had a quick question. Im a bit stuck with forming sentences using Quedar. I’ll list two examples below that are really tripping me up

“ Quedamos en ver a José en el parque.”

“ Quedamos en vernos el jueves.”

Im just lost because both of these somewhat read the same no? what constitutes adding “en vernos” vs “en ver” ? Is it just that a person is mentioned in the bottom example therefor its switched to “en ver”
