Hitchhiking in pairs?

Hello, fellow hitchikers. Until now, I was hitchhiking all alone. But now, one of my friends asked me about going on a hitch-trip with me. As I'm not used to hitchhiking with someone, I'd like to ask you a question: How difficult is it to hitchhike as a pair (2 men)? I mean, roughly how much longer will it take before someone picks us up?
