Bad PS2 Emulation quality on Switch running android

I've flashed android 15 on my switch and im running NetherS2X to emulate games like retchet and clank and Jak, but maaan the framerates I'm getting are abismal. Completely unplayable.
Is the PS2 emulation on the switch really that bad or am I missing something?
I have a OLED switch and I have fiddled with all the system and graphic settings on NetherS2X.
Would linux be better for switch emulation?
