Masonic Lodge install

question

Hi all,

I'm looking for some pointers. I'm an audio engineer, but firmly in the studio realm. I have no PA experience. We need a new sound system for our Lodge building - think a worship type room, aprox 40 x 20 feet, 18 foot ceiling. max 50 seats. We only play music through the system: sound quality is important. When music is played, people actively listen, and when people talk, no music is playing. Things rarely get louder than 90 dB, in my guesstimation. The acoustics are pretty dead - no glass, barely any hard surfaces.

The current install consists of 4 passive speakers and a sub, driven by an old hifi receiver. Since there are multiple groups that rent the place, I want things to be more idiot proof. Think: Person X comes in to play music for their group/lodge, sometimes with a burned CD, sometimes with an iPhone, sometimes a USB stick. In a perfect world, it's a matter of switching things on, inserting the media, adjusting the volume, cue and play. Budget is flexible, but ideally around 2500 USD.

Any input is highly appreciated.
