How do I get unemployment checks?

Im 22M. I have bills and unfortunately I just lost my job recently. (I hate fedex)

I have bills to pay and no job is calling me back, so I figured I’d try for unemployment. Ive always stayed away from these cause I know some need it more than me.

How would I go about this? Is there a special circumstance that I need in order to get it or I guess is it uncommon to be approved?
