Twin girls getting distracted (5 months 14 days)

Hi

So our twin girls are now 5 months and 14 days. They now get distracted with everything. It's super hard putting them to sleep because they keep looking at something or the other and end up being overestimated and cranky and all that. They also get distracted while drinking milk. How do you manage this? Do you take them to a pitch black room ?
