Should I upgrade to the Steam Machine?

For context, my PC seems somewhat outdated with low to mid-end specs. I don't know anything about PCs or swapping out parts/upgrading. I bought it pre-built, years ago.
My problem is I've been wanting to play Doom: The Dark Ages for a long time now. But it's a pretty demanding game, it needs a GPU that supports ray tracing for example.
Here's my current PC's specs for reference:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X (6C/12T)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660

so my main question is, would you consider the new Steam Machine an upgrade from my current PC? And do you think the Steam Machine would be able to run Doom: The Dark Ages? Or do you think it isn't powerful enough to run it properly either? I've heard mixed things about the Steam Machine's specs, so that's why I'm asking.
