Iphone 8 activation lock trigger

I bought an iphone 8 from vinted,it doesnt have passcode so i can access homescreen but its tied to a apple id. It hasnt been connected to the wifi for a long time (maybe 3 years) so will it trigger the activation lock after connecting to the internet?
