You don’t need permission to move on
Not an unset letter but I realized this when I ended things with my ex. You don’t need permission to move on, you don’t that “last conversation” with them to move on, you don’t even need them to tell you to move on or give you the green light. You move on when you choose to move on. Things aren’t “up in the air” in a relationship just because they haven’t responded yet. Sure you need to discuss these things with people when you make a decision, but you don’t need their permission to leave. You only need to inform them. It’s your life, you’re the one who decides who you end up with and who gets to stay in it because you cannot be in a situation you don’t want to be in with someone else simply because they want to be in it. Your decisions with your life don’t depend on what others want. You move on once you decide to let go despite it hurting either of you. Needing permission from others to move on is a form of people pleasing.
