[q] Anyone experiencing "untrustworthy" prompt on CSFloat after long time usage?

Question

Been using float since a little after it came out. When attempting to deposit, I see an prompt stating I'm "untrustworthy" and that I need to make my account completely public (friends list, games, etc) and after analyzing, determine whether or not I need to do additional verification.

A couple things that come to mind that I would love answered.

  1. I've been using the service for years. While I use a VPN (disabled when making a purchase as Stripe will block the transaction), the underlying devices haven't changed. Anybody that's triaged breaches within systems would value that to some degree and that hasn't been a problem in past.

  2. Generating a steam API key should give you access to my friends list and games anyway.

  3. They're not a payment processor. The software that processes my credit card should determine fraud not the underlying site. It's like Amazon wanting to see my passport to verify that the account holder is the same person that on the credit card.

I use my friends Amazon on a VPN. Credit card attached for the past decade. I do this because he has Prime. Amazon isn't in the business of questioning that habit so why is CS Float?

My friend's list is set to friends only. I've had multiple instances of friends and traders I've added being impersonated and those impersonators adding me. While I don't mind making friends list public that much, it just seems like another barrier to utilizing the site. It doesn't even guarantee that I'll be in compliance and able to deposit.

Am I being unreasonable?
