To clear up some context…. I don’t have a very wide foot (more narrow/average), but I’ve always struggled with my big toe hitting the side of a hard leather boot (I think it’s because I have quite a large foot (UK11/12) but relatively small toes! So it’s more like a square shaped foot…..

Anyway, I bought the AR8, Moc Toes and African Ranger recently - The problem was…. They were all too wide through the heel and foot, and whilst the toe box was nice, the whole thing didn’t work for me.

I’d been put off ordering anything on the ASHM last… But I’m here to tell you…. It may just be for you!

These 719’s fit instantly - No toe issues, no sloppiness - It fit like an Iron Ranger with a little more room. Yes…. I can safely say the 719 has more room than an Iron Ranger, whilst still fitting nicely around your foot.

The overall quality is excellent - I feel mine could do with some conditioning out of the box (not sure how long they’ve been in storage, but I doubt the UK is a huge market for JG at the moment).

The weight, the build quality, the leather…. It’s all excellent.

Obviously this is an “out of the box” review, and I’ll certainly update it as I get some wear into them - But so far, so good.

One thing to note - The Moc Toes, AR and AR8 all had one of those leather insoles in them - These 719’s only have the heel part, and no full leather insole.

I always prefer a little cushion, so I’ve got a thin cushioned insole in there currently.

Any questions (sizing etc), let me know :)
