Can't unlock with password after ONE UI 8

Discussion 💬

Hello, so my GF finally decided to upddate her S23 to One UI 8.0.
Thank god she did not do this when we were on vacation and waited or our holiday would be ruined. Nice one Samsung.
Basically, after updating S23 overnight, in the morning she was not able to unlock her phone, despite her password was correct!
Phone does not say "wrong password", all it does, blinks, loops and asks to enter it again.
All the data.. ability to use phone... All in As*. Thanx Samsung, you begged us to upddate, begged with those annoying popups and then basically brick her phone.
She never rooted it or sideloaded any app!! I never had even slightest idea that in this case phone can be softbricked by own Samsung upddate. What the hell?! How they did not see this coming and did not test the upddate enough? Just pushed it and see what happens, how many phones will be ruined?? Hey Samsung, this is Apples ways, not yours wtf.
Anyway, if not me, she would be cooked to go to service, pay top dollar, get her data wiped for sure (because they always do this stupid policy).

What does not work from similar posts:
❌ Disconnecting WiFi router
❌ Removing SIM card
❌ Rebooting phone
❌ Rebooting to safe mode
❌ Using external keyboard

✅ After few hours of googling and analysing risks, I found a solution to restore phone to working condition WITHOUT LOSING DATA:
You have to get ODIN and reflash your newest current firmware (with One UI 8.0) while using "HOME_CSC", this is important, I’ll explain:
On Windows PC download "Odin" (latest version, e.g., v3.14.x or newer)
Power off your phone, plug USB cable to PC and to phone, wait till charging logo appears. Now hold VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN until you see greenish screen with random text, press UP. Now you’re ready.
On PC open ODIN, it will show at left top corner that device is connected on some COM port, that’s good.
Go to https://samfw.com/ and in search type your phone’s part number, for example: SM-S911B, pick device from list, enter. Pick your region, now you look for newest firmware to download. Basically at very top. Download zip, extract it. You will see files like: CSC_OXMxxxxx.tar.md5, HOME_CSCxxxx.tar.md5, CPxxxx.tar.md5, APxxxx.tar.md5, BLxxxx.tar.md5. Now in ODIN pick files in list by their names, AP to AP, BL to BL… etc. (USERDATA is not used) BUT IN CSC pick "HOME_CSC" not CSC_OXM! This is important, by picking "HOME_CSC" it will leave your precious photos and all data untouched and reflash only OS! So to be clear, file CSC_OXM or just CSC won’t be used here, ignore it.
Hit START and wait till it rewrites your OS, after phone restarts, disconnect USB cable. Your phone is fixed.
If these details are confusing, either don’t do it, or watch YouTube on how to use ODIN.

Hope that saves someones days struggles.
