Polygraph 4 hours?

I just got my offer letter from the local sheriff’s department here in North Carolina after passing all the BI and whatnot. The offer was contingent on passing poly, psych, and medical exam. They said the poly would take 4 hours, what am I to expect? I’ve never had a polygraph before and was a little thrown back it would take 4 hours. Any advice?
