Streak X Learning to Like My Own Mistakes
Today I realized something strange I don’t actually hate making mistakes anymore. I used to get embarrassed every time I wrote something imperfect in English as if every typo meant I wasn’t good enough. But recently I’ve been noticing that my mistakes have become kind of helpful? For example, this morning I wrote a sentence that didn’t sound right, but instead of deleting it immediately I sat with it for a minute. I tried to understand why it felt off. And that tiny moment of curiosity taught me more than if I had written the correct sentence on the first try. I used to think fluency meant writing everything perfectly. But now I’m starting to see it more like a conversation with myself. I write I stumble I adjust, I learn. It feels less like testing myself and more like discovering how my brain works in another language. I’m not sure if this counts as real progress, but it definitely feels like a healthier mindset than being scared to post. If anyone else is trying to build confidence with writing, I hope you give your mistakes a little kindness too they might be doing more work than you think.
