I love Carol

SpoilerDiscussion

It feels like a weird thread to make but it seems like much of the audience can't stand her.

I love a character that calls bullshit on stuff. And Carol is one bullshit caller. She's funny in an angry way, you can tell there's a real heart beneath it all. I'm not really sure what's all the fuss is about. Rhea is giving a fantastically layered performance managing to be both touching and hilarious, often times in the same scene.

And she's a perfect contrast to the whole situation. Her wife Helen was the smiley to her frown. Now the pluribus is the contrast to her anger and frustration. I find the dynamic between Carol and pirate lady really funny too.

Rhea is making heavy lifting very successfully IMO. She's almost a sole act and she nails it. And I'm sure there are more layers to her than being miserable that we'll see being flashed out later. I mean they're already teasing much of them: her care for humanity, the love for her late wife, her care for Zosia despite being a pluribus, how much she cares about her personal book. We'll get a much fresher perspective once Carol meets her equal in that angry guy she tried to call I'm sure.
