Boyfriend with serious brain injury put in jail after accident

My brother was in a car accident and got charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He also got serious brain damage in the crash himself, and even though he’s still recovering, they took him to jail. He’s not safe in there like this. I’m scared and don’t know how to help him. How can I get him out faster or get someone to take his medical condition seriously?
