Watched Hey Ram for the first time and holy hell it was better than expected.

Technically it had many flaws but understandable for the time it was made as the industry in 2000 wasn't world class, but really Kamal Hassan had so many scenes where he really showed his acting prowess. The cinematography was top notch with lighting and set design at a level I havent seen too many times for the time period. I felt Shah Rukh Khan could have acted better but he did a good job too. Otherwise all the actors (and boy what a cast) acted really well. The overall theme of the movie was really gutsy and I doubt a movie can be made like that in today's troubling times in India. I wish Tamil cinema returns to these glory days. Any trivia from the movie that a first time viewer in 2025 can enjoy? Only thing I didnt like was the song and dances in such a serious film but again it was probably due to the time period.
Also salute to KH for releasing it on youtube in fine print.
