AIRAH 4 taking pleasure on my friend's poor golf

AITAH for enjoying my friend being a shit golfer? I 68 met my friend when he was a teenager playing sports with my son. He was typically the best in his class at most sports like baseball and basketball. I eventually hired him at my company where he has become a close friend. He took up golf about 10 years ago and has been a disaster of a golfer ever since. He plays a giant slice, hits his driver shorter than me and scores in the hundreds. About once a month he gets a lesson or goes to the range and excited texts/calls me exclaiming that he has "figured it out." He then shoots another 100+ and gets down on himself. Last week he calls me at 11 pm (way after my bed time) to tell me he is at the driving range...I interrupt and say "let me guess you figured it out" he gets quieter and says he thinks he found. Something in his swing. A couple days later we are playing and he is playing the same ugly over the top swing with fifty yard slice and starts par birdy. He looks me in the eyes and says I told you I figured it out. At this point I think he is joking and laugh at him telling him he hasn't figured out shit. He finishes in the hundreds and pissy blaming me for killing his momentum (1 birdy...) he has been very cold and almost does not talk to me when we play again.

Was I the asshole for ruining his self delusions or being taclessly honest?

AITAH for enjoying beating a younger athletic person when I am old and fat?
