Are the Humans themselves aware of the fact that they have a drug or whatever inside of them and still chose to be a part of the hive mind?

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but is it going to be a westworld s1 kind of an equation where they figure out they have free will even with the drug/whatever it is effect? Or in case of westworld that they are happy being a robot even knowing that they have free will. Like do they embrace it.
