[GM4A] Call of Duty: Ashes (COD style rp in the world of India-Pakistan nuclear war)
History
April 22, 2025. An Islamist terrorist group attacked Pahalgam, located in the Indian Administered Zone of Kashmir, resulting in 26 deaths. India quickly accused the Pakistani government of supporting the terrorists and launched Operation Sindoor, a series of air and missile attacks on military installations inside Pakistan. In response, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which consisted of artillery and missile attacks on Indian military bases. By May, Pakistani and Indian air forces had managed to destroy various military bases in both countries. And now my scenario begins.
In our world, on May 10, over 36 countries, including the US, UAE, Iran, UK, and Saudi Arabia, began working towards peace between the two countries. This required lengthy negotiations for Pakistan and India to begin talks. This prevented a full-scale war. However, in this scenario, we assume that a high-ranking politician from one country is more skeptical of peace, and on May 11, the situation remains unchanged. Pakistani and Indian negotiators break off contact, and escalation continues. And with the apparent lack of peace, both countries begin to arm themselves for war.
Convinced that peace is not the answer, India expands Operation Sindoor, increasing the number of missile and air attacks, targeting not only military facilities but also important radar stations and fuel depots in Pakistan's administrative zone in Kashmir. In response, Pakistan is also expanding its operations. Swarms of drones and precision-guided munitions attack military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Amritsar. Sustained artillery fire begins across the Kashmir border, killing 800 people, mostly soldiers, but also civilians. Residents of border villages flee to mountainous areas.
The US is calling for an urgent UN meeting, and Trump himself, preoccupied with internal issues, has tweeted a cessation of hostilities between the two countries. China is the first to respond more actively, deploying troops as peacekeepers on the Kashmir border. The European Union is calling for de-escalation but remains divided. Western Europe wants to initiate peace talks and impose trade embargoes on arms dealers. Poland and the Baltic states are warning that NATO's dissolution benefits Russia. Hungary and Slovakia, with their pro-Russian governments, are appealing for neutrality. Iran and Saudi Arabia, usually rivals, are calling for peace, seeing the conflict as a threat to their own oil reserves.
Television in India is beginning to proclaim that it's time for justice. In larger cities, especially in New Delhi and Mumbai, large crowds are vandalizing buildings belonging to Muslim owners. Videos of Muslims being beaten and called Pakistani spies, as well as a video of a mosque being set on fire, are circulating online. People in Pakistan are divided; some support the army and believe that Pakistan is defending itself against the aggressor, while others oppose the government, believing that the war will only cause destruction, which can already be felt, including food and power shortages, and a drop in the Pakistani currency on the global market.
May 20, 2025. The Indian Prime Minister announces the launch of an operation aimed at quickly occupying Pakistani territory in Kashmir to prevent a nuclear conflict from escalating. In response, Pakistan places its tactical nuclear missiles on high alert. Satellite images show the movement of nuclear missiles. Military experts on Indian television begin debates on the survivability of a nuclear war.
June 10. Pakistan launches a single tactical nuclear missile at approximately 100 Indian soldiers fighting in Pakistan. The Pakistani government hopes the attack will act as a deterrent.
Convinced by his generals that if they didn't attack first, India would be destroyed, the Prime Minister of India ordered a full-scale nuclear attack on Pakistan. 160 nuclear missiles were detonated within Pakistani territory. This resulted in the destruction of all major cities and the deaths of over 50 million people. The attack was intended to destroy Pakistan's ability to attack India. However, of the 117 nuclear missiles, 40 were still intact, and within a short time, all 40 missiles were detonated within India's largest cities. Within an hour, 300 million people were killed.
June 11. The largest migration crisis in history and the world begins, with people from Pakistan and India fleeing to China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Iran. Radioactive clouds drift behind them.
China and Russia have begun lockdowns. Millions of people fleeing to Afghanistan are drawn into the fighting of the Taliban and other warlords. On the Pakistani-Afghanistan border, the Taliban are trying to seize power. Kashmir is becoming a region without authority and in constant conflict. In Pakistan, top generals are trying to seize power and control the chaos. The global market and food chains in Africa and Asia are collapsing. NATO is launching an operation to seize surviving nuclear weapons before they fall into the wrong hands. The European Union and the United States are beginning evacuations of their citizens from Asia. On June 20, another 200 million deaths were counted, a number that, according to the UN, will only rise.
Iran and Russia are exploiting the confusion. Iran is strengthening its nuclear program. Russia launches another major offensive in Ukraine and puts its nuclear missiles on alert. On June 22, North Korea detonates three nuclear devices on its soil in a show of force.
In the following months, the UN estimates that approximately 1.5 billion people are in life-threatening conditions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, that's the scenario, and now there are many plot options for a Call of Duty scenario. The one I had in mind the most was this:
You're a soldier in a country evacuating its civilians from Asia. After a successful evacuation, you're sent with a squad to capture a military base containing nuclear weapons that could fall into the hands of the Taliban.
Another option is that you're a Pakistani spy who was in prison when the nuclear attack began. During the attack, the prison was destroyed, so you have to escape through a devastated city where people are panicking and the remnants of the army want to stop you. Then you try to escape the country across the border with China, so you have to be careful not to be captured by their forces, who are guarding the border to prevent anyone from getting through.
But I am here and I'm counting on your ideas because there are many possibilities in such scenarios.
