Had a bad day but ended up differently

RANT/VENT

Today, I had an F2F interview scheduled. So, I got ready and reached the location 15 minutes before the interview. It was my first time in that place, so took me sometime to figure out the exact room. When I just go into the building, I heard thumping sounds of heel of my boot which was wierdly loud. Then when I looked down I noticed the sole of one of the shoes came out and was just hanging out when I walked. It was already getting late for the interview and at the same time this too. So, I didn't have time to think much about it so, though it was embarassing to walk like that infront of everyone in an big corporate building. I proceeded further, prioritising my interview. And at one point embaressment reached its peak and when I saw, the sole had come out completely seperated from the leather part. Now I can't even walk with it, that made me nervous. Then I decided to keep the broken shoes in my bag and just walked to the interview room with my socks only, by taking a lift. Then when I entered the room, hr asked me where my shoe is thinking I might have left it outside then I said about it, they were kind enough to listen and confront me.

Then had my interview, but when I had to show my projects to the interviewer my laptop stopped working which was more embarassing and at that point itself I decided, this interview is not going to convert. At the end, as expected the interviewer instead of saying a blind we'll get back to you. She actually told me in the face that, looking at your profile you can do better in other companies. Here, the growth opportunities for this role is much lesser and she gave me advice on how to network, how to approach people all in the interview itself which actually made me happier rather than sad as she was giving me suggestions and it motivated me a bit. Helped me get off of the embarassments for a while. Then she wished me best of luck and we parted ways.

Then when I was out of the room, I didn't know what to do next with no shoes on and barefoot. I just stood there looking for slippers on blinkit, zepto, Instamart and what not, but I couldn't find any for my size and my sized ones are rather expensive which I couldn't afford at that moment. Then I gained all the confidence and just booked a uber and asked him to come inside the parking lot of the building he denied saying it's far.

Then I just went to the entrance of the building with all eyes on me and my foot. Then I found the uber guy then while riding back home, had some really good conversation with my driver, who turned out to be someone into business management and was preparing for an exam, which helped me forget all the bad experiences and he suggested me some places to apply and what are the things to work on and what his friends are doing to get a job or client in this field.

Overall, the day started bad and ended up with a lesson.

TL;DR: I went for an interview and it got pissed due to a lot of unexpected turn of events like my laptop not working and my shoe's soles came off. Still managed to give the interview and got rejected straight on but with a lot of advice to learn and grow from the kind interviewer. Then, an accidental conversation with my uber driver turned out to be really good and relieving.
