Casual player here — worth getting BO7 if I only care about campaign?

Hey all, hoping to get some honest and balanced opinions.

I’m a pretty casual/seasonal player these days. I’ve got a family and a full-time job, so I really only play FPS campaigns now — no energy or schedule for multiplayer anymore. I used to love CoD campaigns (especially the MW series), but BO6 lost me a bit once the zombie missions kicked in. Felt super out of place and way less grounded than what I enjoy.

I’ve been craving a more “realistic” storyline FPS campaign ever since, no zombies and aliens all that. I considered picking up Battlefield 6 but the reviews say the campaign is really short (even if it isn’t bad). So I thought maybe I’d just wait for BO7… but now I’m seeing a lot of people straight-up saying the campaign sucks.

Without spoilers — is it actually that bad? For someone who just wants a solid, somewhat realistic single-player story on PS5, which game would you pick right now?

Just trying to figure out where to spend my limited gaming time this year. Appreciate any honest take!
