Why don't people like Israel now? Genuinely asking as a clueless Australian!

I mean its pretty much all in the name, I see so much Israel, Israilie hate lately & Talks abiut 'Zionism' (Not quite sure what that means!) But as far as I can tell Israel is fine, peaceful, fun lively country & As a Christian, A holy land chosen by God for God's people! It seems nice & the peoole are famously beatiful
