I feel I have to lose my virginity to get a boyfriend

I am 22F, almost 23 and I have never had a boyfriend ever. Obviously still a virgin and I have only kissed once. I want a boyfriend so bad. I want to go on cute dates and cuddle.

However, guys only want sex or to hookup. Most of my friends in relationships had sex with thier partner in the first few dates and then it led to a relationship. I want to be in a relationship before I have sex with someone but I read that guys put sex over a relationship. They have sex first before they decide they want to date someone.

I feel like I just have to give in and have sex with a guy who I think is alright and hope it will lead to a relationship but I am scared. Its my first time, I want to feel safe and loved and I don't think that's possible with some guy I just met on the internet. But I don't what else to do.
