Widening rough opening in brick for a round top door
I have a 1920s house with two round top doors. All realistic options for replacing the doors require a 38 inch rough opening to accommodate a 36 inch standard door size. Mine are a couple inches too narrow. I've seen videos of rectangular openings widened with a wet saw. Should I try a similar approach and find a way to cut the curve at the top or would it make more sense to remove the bricks, cut, and lay them again given the mortar is original and not portland cement?
