TIFU by accidentally sending a message to a company email complaining about the company
So, this really happened today. I was feeling pretty frustrated with work and thought it would help to vent in an email to what I assumed was just my close coworker. I poured out everything: long rants about management, the bizarre schedule, the broken coffee machine—basically a whole novel of complaints. Satisfied with my work, I hit “send”… only to realize I had accidentally clicked “Reply All.”
Within moments, emails started flooding in. HR. My boss. Even the CEO. Some responses were polite, but most definitely were not. I spent the rest of the day apologizing, deleting drafts, and trying to act like I was invisible. My coworkers kept sending me their reactions, some laughing, others giving me judgmental comments. I now completely get the meaning of “instant regret.”
The bright side? At least my rants were somewhat amusing, so half the office got a good laugh at my expense. But honestly, I’m just counting down the days until this all blows over… if it ever does.
TL;DR: Tried to vent to a coworker, accidentally emailed the entire company. Embarrassment: off the charts.
