Leaving early broadband provider

Consumer Law

Helos guys,

I come here with a quick question about leaving early my broadband contract with Virgn Media. I have 5 months left in a 12 months contract. I'm moving house and my new landlord doesn't allow us to drill to install the box, leaving me with no option but to cancel. I've spoken to customer service and they want to charge me 150e for leaving early, which effectively is what is stated in the contract.

The company has a policy where, if you move to a new area where they can't provide service, you can break the contract with no extra charges. Although the area I'm moving to can provide the service, I argued that because of my landlord's policies, I'm not really able to mantain the service, but it's not enoguh to convince them. Knowing this, I have two options:

1 - Break contract, cancel the service and try to cancel the payment. In this case, do you think I could get into any trouble? Might they chase me for just 150e bill?

2 - Fake moving to an area where they can't provide service. In this case, does any of you know if I will have to provide any kind of proof?

Third option would be to pay the 150e, but I'm tired of getting scammed left and right by this companies.
