Marital status

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding adding your spouse to PR application. I moved in with my boyfriend this May and I submitted my PR application as a Single application this month since we've lived together for 5 months only. My question is that if my application hasn't finalized when the 12 months are marked, do I have to declare him as common law with IRCC? He is also applying for PR himself and we are not planning to sponsor each other in the future. Our plan is getting married after both of us get the PR. Thank you
