TDLR: So on my previous post I talked about how I’m struggling to access home health care for labs. My doctor responded and said that the inly other way I’d be qualified is by doing pt/ot. I am severe and couch/bedbound.

Previous post: So what does everyone do when they are too severe to get labs drawn?

Ugh. I requested home health care to get in home labs drawn because leaving the house will end in a crash and it’s unsafe for me. My doctor said it wouldn’t be billable because I don’t have other service needs like ivs or wound care etc. so what does everyone do when they need labs drawn and they can’t get to the doctor. My location also doesn’t have any mobile phlebotomist or any services like that. Why do they make this so hard. My primary won’t even put my diagnosis in even though she was the first one to bring it up too.

Update she messaged me back “One approach we can take is getting you qualified for other in home services. To that point, I actually strongly recommend in-home PT and OT. If we order those then it sounds like we can get the labs to fall under the umbrella of in-home care and get them covered.”

Has anyone had pt/OT done at home and it actually was safe? How do you set boundaries? I’m not sure this would be worth it as this would definitely cause PEM.
