I'm really worried I'm going to fail med school at this rate
Sorry for slightly clickbait title but I'd really appreciate some advice. No judgment please.
In short, I've found myself losing all motivation to study lately. My mood has been extremely low. I am still able to attend classes and placements, but I literally cannot study at all. Even when I drag myself to the library, I cannot make myself to do one passmed question or read one powerpoint slide. In the last block of placement, I knew I had to submit the portfolio, I knew the deadline, but I couldn't write a single word until some 3 hours before the deadline. I am becoming more dumb and losing knowledge I've learnt before. Last week I couldn't even tell between tibia and fibula on x-ray. I am worried I'm going to fail at this rate if I don't turn things around.
I know full well the reason behind is my being single. I have just turned 24. In the last couple of months, as my birthday became closer, I felt more desperate than ever. I am very lonely, and I really want to have a partner. I am the type of guy who have never even held a woman's hand. I have actively improved myself and tried to put myself out there, but still have never had success. All my friends and most people in med school, whether younger or older than me, are or have been in a relationship. I am not jealous, but I feel inferior to my peers. As a human being, I really want to taste romance and intimacy.
In addition to med school and placement, I am active in several societies. I volunteer for a couple of charities. I have hobbies and I attend hobby class weekly. I have been going to gym and looking after my look and wardrobe. In fact, I make myself as busy as possible so I don't have time to think about my failure (and probably have no time to study even if I'm motivated to...). But every night, before I go to sleep, I just can't help but feel extremely lonely and vulnerable. I have sought help from the university's wellbeing and adviser team but the effect has been very limited. I am quite distant from family except my dad but he lives in another country at the moment. I have tried to talk to friends but they have their own life as well, they can't listen to me all day. In fact, I have bothered some of them so much that they had hinted me going to therapists instead of them.
I genuinely don't know what I could do to turn things around.
