Do you care about meta builds and stats?

Given some recent conversations I’ve had on r/sto, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of people who prioritize focus on numbers alone (like Ship A having a certain amount of hull versus Ship B, even if same class and Tier) and/or meta builds. It’s gotten me curious how many here actually see that as their gameplay style.

In a sense, yes, guessing you could count speed runners (be it of game or TFOs or anything) could count. They want builds that’ll allow them to finish things as fast as possible.

Personally, I play STO to have fun and know others who focus on that over numbers as well. Kind of people who’ll fly anything if they’re comfortable and slap together builds they enjoy even if not the most OP.

I intentionally left out PvP as have seen both types there.

No hostility or style shaming intended, so I do apologize if my curse of bad wording has made it sound like that. I’m honestly curious what makes one style more appealing to different people here and hoping to have civil discussions and conversations.
