Scared to fumigate with new baby

Hello, my husband and I purchased a home with carpeting in RWC. Disclosures noted termites and recommended fumigation/tenting. We have a 1 year old baby and I’m quite scared/nervous to move in after treatment - I’ve read horror stories of ppl dying from the toxins. Has anyone dealt w tenting before and what are the risks and ways to do it safely (eg how long should we wait to move in)? Thanks
